Review of the Finding Nemo Show at Disney's Animal Kingdom

I've got to say this isn't one of the best shows I've ever seen at Disney. I was actually a bit disappointed in it.

This was the first time I actually made it into the show. I always just miss it. I had a seat at the back of the theater so I could see everything around me including the other audience members. The show I saw started at 6pm; and I was very disappointed that the Cast still let people into the show for about 10 minutes after it had started so you had people disturbing others. This is the first time I have experienced this in a closed theater show. Normally at show time the theater doors close and you are out of luck if you missed show time.

The show it's self runs about 45 minutes and its a condensed version of the movie. The music however was different and not as catchy as you normally find in Disney productions. The show is mostly a puppet show however the puppeteers are not hidden like normal. They are actually dressed in costumes to go with there puppet and you can watch them actually sing and talk while operating the puppets. I'm sure this is meant to be a cool new aspect to the show and to give the puppeteers more of a chance in the spotlight. However I mostly found it very weird and distracting.

I was also starting to dislike some of my favorite characters such as Dory! I just found her very annoying and aggravating. The only saving grace for this show was that there was a 2 and a half year old in our group and he was totally enthralled with the show. I'm not sure that I'm going to bother to watch this show again. I think once might have been more then enough. With that being said I am not taking anything away from the performers they are very hard workers however they can only work with what they are given. If anyone should be getting a disappointed head shake it should be the shows writers. This theater was much better when it was the open air theater used for the long gone Tarzan skateboard show!

Bottom line if you are planning a trip to Animal Kingdom. This isn't something that you should be to upset if you miss! Depending on when you are there you might not have time for everything. I would suggest skipping this. Not only is it not that great but it is also really long!
