Orange is the New Black and Hemlock Grove

I know I'm a little behind with checking out Orange is the new Black; since it premiered on July 11,2013. It's a Netflix.com original, so I figured there are some people who don't think they want to invest time in a show that isn't on a cable channel.

I don't know why I waited this long to start watching it since Netflix had already pulled me in with Hemlock Grove. This show like Hemlock Grove is for mature audiences. If your offended by language, nudity, or sexual content you might want to sit this one out.

I watched the first three episodes out of thirteen tonight. I figure I will be finished season one by the end of the week. The main character Piper gets one year in prison for being involved in drug smuggling ten years prior. She is an uptight and not cut out for prison. The show flips back and forth between past and present. Not only do you learn about Piper but you start to learn about the rest of the girls and how they got were they are.

If you don't think a woman's prison show is up your alley because your more the paranormal TV show type. Check out Hemlock Grove. You will have plenty of enjoyment. Gypsy's werewolf's  and other surprises oh my!! You also don't have to worry about getting hooked and having it canceled it has already been picked up for a second season. With True Blood coming to end we will need something to fill the void. What better way to do that then with Eric's real life brother who place Roman on Hemlock Grove!

Overview

It's hard being the most powerful witch on the planet. It's even harder when you're a twenty-five year old virgin who'll lose all of that power the moment you sleep with someone ... that's why Elena's never slept with her best friend and flatmate, Karl, despite the true feelings they harbour for each other.

But on discovery of a magic pen, Elena's life is about to get a whole lot worse... (barnes and nobles)

The Witching Pen is a spectacular read! I am so glad I picked this book up. This is the first book by Dianna Hardy; I have read. I loved that this story added a new twist to the same old witch story.

There were several twists and turns. I didn't want to put this book down until I finished it. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I can't wait to hear what happens to the characters.

AfterLife is a fabulous prequel novella. When I'm starting a new series I always look to see if there is a prequel before I start. I always like to read the back stories of the characters I'm going to be going on an adventure with.

I think Willow Cross did a great job bringing these characters to life. She also wove a great back story of how her main characters met and how they became such an important part of each others lives.

If you haven't already read the Dark Gifts Series it is defiantly one you should check out if your a fan of paranormal books. It's not a long read only about 70 pages but you wont be sorry that you picked up this book even with having less then 100 pages it was packed full of action!! It is also a paranormal book that is something that all readers can enjoy!

I can't wait to read the rest of this series! It's got me hooked!

Becoming is an outstanding book. It was so refreshing to read a book that wasn't the same old tired story.

I loved that RM Gilmore was able to weave some old Irish legends in to this book. She also managed to have all of the important elements of a good book; as well! She had romance, heart ache, self loathing, and a strong willed main character.

This book begins on Lynnie's 20th birthday. The day she is Becoming. You travel with her over the course of the next few days as she starts to understand and come to grips with what she is. I really can't tell you any more then that because I don't want to give anything way.

This book is not your average read if you like paranormal style books and you are looking for something different to read this is the book for you! I look forward to the second book in this series. I also liked that this book is one that most readers can enjoy. I didn't need to worn readers away because it might be to graphic for younger reader.
